Dr. Snehal Adsule BHMS, MD (Alternative Medicine) Founder of CurviCare

I help Indian women lose weight in a way that fits real life, with familiar food, practical changes, and no shame.

The story that changed my direction

In 2016, my Aai, my aunt who was no less than a mother to me, was diagnosed with blood cancer.

She was a working woman. For nearly thirty years she managed all of it at once: her job, her children, her family, her home.

But like so many women, she kept herself last.

I still remember how she would wait a long time for a bus, just to save a little money. She made sure her children always ate fresh food, and often ate the leftovers herself. When her children were struggling, she quietly carried their worries too.

When she fell ill, I was studying medicine. And still, I felt helpless. I had so many questions and so few answers.

Later, she passed away.

That loss stayed with me. It changed the direction of my work.

Why women

Over time I realised my Aai's pattern was not unusual at all. I saw it everywhere: women caring for everyone around them, while slowly disappearing from their own list.

That is why I chose to focus my work on women.

My story became personal too

My own health journey became part of the story.

I struggled with my weight and with an unhealthy relationship with food. When my periods stopped for about three months, I was diagnosed with PCOS. I know from the inside how confusing and worrying that experience can feel.

At my highest, I weighed around 69 kg. Over 2016 and 2017, I lost around 15 kg and reached approximately 54 kg. I have maintained that weight loss for close to a decade.

I am not telling you this as a miracle story, because it was not one. Every woman's body is different, and what worked for me is not a promise for anyone else. I share it because I understand this journey personally, not only through my education and work.

Why I started CurviCare

My medical background, my Aai's story, my own struggles, and my years of working with women all pointed to the same thing. Women deserve help that actually fits their lives.

So in 2018, I started CurviCare to help Indian women lose weight in a practical, lasting way, using familiar Indian food and personalised support.

Since then, CurviCare has grown into a women-focused team that has supported more than 29,000 paid clients across 78+ countries.

The belief behind it is simple. A woman should not have to starve, fear rice and roti, follow extreme diets, cook separate food from her family, or feel guilty every time she eats.

What I believe today

Losing weight should not feel like punishment.

You do not need to give up normal Indian food or follow a plan no one else in your house will eat. In my experience, small and realistic changes to the food already on your plate go much further than any crash diet.

My job is to make that simple, and to explain your body in plain words, the way I would if we were sitting across the table with a cup of chai. No shaming, no scaring, and no promises about a number on the scale.

My journey so far

I hold a BHMS degree and an MD in Alternative Medicine. I have also pursued further training in nutrition and dietetics, personal counselling, REBT and life coaching.

In 2025, I took the TEDxNerul stage to speak about my journey to emotional growth.

Today, my focus is nutrition and sustainable weight loss for women. It is the work I have chosen to dedicate myself to.

My mission

To help one million Indian women become healthier and happier.

Her life taught me how easily a woman can disappear behind everyone else's needs. That lesson still shapes everything I build, and it carries her blessings with it.
