PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a common hormonal condition in women where the ovaries do not release eggs as regularly as they should, and the body often makes higher levels of male-type hormones.

This can lead to irregular periods, weight that is harder to lose, and skin or hair changes. Many women with PCOS also have some insulin resistance, which affects how the body handles sugar.

PCOS is very common and it is managed, not cured. With balanced food, movement and support, symptoms can improve a lot.
